To get an updated photo on your renewed Maine driver’s license, you must visit a Driver and Vehicle Registration (DVR) office in person. You cannot submit a new photo online or by mail.
To make an appointment at a DVR office, you can visit their website or call 1-800-452-2910. When you make your appointment, be sure to let them know that you want to get a new photo taken for your renewed driver’s license.
When you go to your appointment, you will need to bring the following:
Your current Maine driver’s license
Proof of identity (such as a passport or birth certificate)
Proof of residency (such as a utility bill or bank statement)
Payment for the new photo fee ($10)
Once you have checked in at your appointment, you will be taken to a photo booth to get your new photo taken. The photo will be reviewed to make sure it meets the requirements for a driver’s license photo. If the photo is approved, you will be given a new driver’s license with your new photo on it.
Please note that you must renew your Maine driver’s license in person if you want to get a new photo. You cannot renew online or by mail if you want a new photo.
