The Anderson Department of Motor Vehicles is located at 260 W. 1st, and is a commission office. 

To apply for a driver’s license in Alaska, you can: 

  1. Apply in person for a leaner permit
  2. Complete the application form
  3. Pass a vision test
  4. Pass the written knowledge test
  5. Pass the alcohol and drug awareness knowledge test
  6. Pay the road test fee
  7. Pass a road test

You can also renew your Alaska driver’s license online. To do so, you can: 

  1. Go to the Alaska DMV license renewal website
  2. Verify your identity
  3. Check your eligibility to renew your license online
  4. Provide the information needed to renew your license

To apply for a REAL ID card, you must present one primary document that shows your: 

  • Date of birth
  • True full name
  • Identity
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful status

You can drive in Alaska if you are at least 16 years old and have a valid driver license from another state, US Territory, or country. If you will be driving in Alaska for more than 90 days, you must get an Alaska driver license.
