If you are moving from Indiana to Florence, Kentucky, you must obtain a new Kentucky driver’s license within 30 days of establishing residency. You will go to a Kentucky Driver Licensing Regional office to do this.
Based on the information available, here are the documents you will need to bring with you:
Required Identification and Documents:
Proof of Identity: An original or certified copy of a document showing your full legal name and date of birth. Acceptable documents include:
Certified U.S. birth certificate with a seal.
Valid U.S. passport or passport card.
Certificate of Naturalization.
Social Security Card: Your physical Social Security card is required. Photocopies are not accepted.
Proof of Kentucky Residency: One document showing your name and current Kentucky address. Two are required if you are applying for a REAL ID. Acceptable documents include:
Utility bill (dated within the last year).
Rental or lease agreement.
Property tax bill.
Mortgage statement.
Your Valid Out-of-State Driver’s License: If your Indiana license is valid, you will not be required to take a written or road test. If it has been expired for more than a year, you will need a current driving record or clearance letter from Indiana, and you may be required to take the written and eye tests.
Proof of Name Change (if applicable): If your current name differs from the name on your birth certificate or other identity documents, you must provide a legal document, such as a certified marriage certificate or court-ordered name change.
Important Notes:
All documents must be original. Photocopies are not accepted.
If you are under 18, you will have additional requirements, such as a School Compliance Verification Form.
The office that issues driver’s licenses in Florence, Kentucky is the Northern Kentucky Driver’s License Office. It is located at 8120 Dream Street.
