It sounds incredibly frustrating to have your important documents and inquiries go unanswered. Here’s a breakdown of how you can escalate this situation and what steps you can take to get the answers you need:

1. Gather Your Documentation:

  • Tracking Number: This is crucial. Have it readily available when you call or communicate.
  • Copies of Documents Sent: Keep copies of everything you mailed.
  • Dates of Calls and Notes: Document every time you’ve called, who you spoke with (if anyone), and any information you received.
  • Lien Holder Information: Have your company’s name, address, and contact information ready.

2. Identify the Correct Authority:

  • Since you are dealing with title work, the location you sent the documents to is likely related to the local County Tag office, or the Georgia Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division.
  • Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR): The Georgia DOR is the state agency responsible for vehicle titles.
    • Check the Georgia DOR website for contact information, including phone numbers and email addresses.
    • Look for a specific division related to vehicle titles or liens.
  • County Tag Office: The address you provided suggests a local county office.
    • Search online for the “Douglas County Tag Office” or “Douglas County Motor Vehicle.”
    • Find the direct phone number for that office.

3. Escalation Steps:

  • Call Again and Be Specific:
    • Clearly state that you are a lien holder and that you sent documents related to a title in November.
    • Provide the tracking number immediately.
    • Ask to speak to a supervisor or manager.
    • Request a case or reference number for your inquiry.
  • Contact the Georgia Department of Revenue Directly:
    • If the local office is unresponsive, escalate to the state level.
    • Explain the situation and provide all relevant documentation.
  • Send a Certified Letter:
    • Send a certified letter with return receipt requested to both the local office and the Georgia DOR.
    • Clearly outline the issue, including the dates, tracking number, and documents sent.
    • Request a written response within a specific timeframe.
  • Consider Legal Counsel:
    • If all other attempts fail, you may need to consult with an attorney specializing in vehicle title law. They can advise you on your legal options.
  • Document Everything:
    • keep a log of every call, person you speak with, and the date and time of the conversation. Save all emails and copies of letters sent.

4. Online Resources:

  • Georgia Department of Revenue Website: This website should have information on vehicle titles and liens.
  • Douglas County Website: The county website may provide contact information for the tag office.

Key Phrases to Use:

  • “I am a lien holder, and I need to inquire about the status of title work.”
  • “I have a tracking number that confirms delivery of my documents.”
  • “I need to speak to a supervisor regarding a delayed title process.”
  • “I would like to request a case number for this inquiry.”
  • “I am prepared to escalate this matter to the Georgia Department of Revenue.”

By being persistent, organized, and escalating when necessary, you can increase your chances of getting a resolution.
