How can I get a copy of my driver’s license printed on line in Florida?
August 3, 2025
In Florida, you can generally get a replacement copy of your driver’s license online through the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) MyDMV Portal.
However, there are some conditions and things to keep in mind:
- REAL-ID Compliant: You are typically eligible for online replacement if your current driver’s license is REAL-ID compliant, indicated by a star in the top right-hand corner.
- Reasons for Replacement: You can usually replace online if you need to update your address or replace a lost or stolen driver’s license or ID.
- One-Time Online Renewal: For renewals, Florida offers an online convenience renewal service every other renewal period.
- Fees: Online replacements are subject to fees, typically a non-refundable $2.00 convenience fee in addition to the replacement fee.
- Delivery: Your new card will be mailed to you and usually takes 2-3 weeks to arrive. You cannot print a copy of the actual license directly from your personal printer.
- In-Person Requirements: You will need to visit an office if:
- You completed your last renewal online.
- You are not REAL ID compliant.
- You wish to update your photo.
- You are changing your name (requires original or certified court order/marriage certificate).
- You are getting a Florida driver’s license or ID card for the first time.
- You hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
- Your license has the word “TEMPORARY” printed on it.
- Your license was stolen and you have a police report (you might get a reduced fee or free replacement in person with the report).
To get started, visit the official FLHSMV MyDMV Portal website: https://mydmvportal.flhsmv.gov/
You’ll likely need to create an account and have information related to your identification card, driver’s license, and motor vehicle records available to answer security questions.
