To obtain a REAL ID non-driver license in Missouri, here’s the information you need regarding cost and required documents:
Cost:
A Missouri Nondriver Identification Card that is REAL ID compliant costs the same as a non-REAL ID compliant one:
- $12 for a three-year expiration
- $18 for a six-year expiration
Information and Documents You Need to Bring:
You will need to present original, valid, and unexpired documents to verify the following:
- Identity and Date of Birth: (One document)
- Valid, unexpired U.S. passport or passport card
- Certified U.S. Birth Certificate (original, with an embossed, stamped, or raised seal)
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Valid, unexpired Permanent Resident Card
- Other documents may be accepted for non-U.S. citizens, such as a valid foreign passport with a U.S. visa and I-94.
- Lawful Status in the United States: (One document)
- Many of the documents listed for Identity can also fulfill this requirement if they prove U.S. citizenship or immigration status.

- W-2 form
- SSA-1099 form

Important Notes:
- All documents must be original, valid, and unexpired. Photocopies and faxes are generally not accepted for original documents.
- Your current Missouri driver’s license, even if it’s not REAL ID compliant, does not affect your ability to get a REAL ID non-driver license.
- Allow 10-15 business days to receive your REAL ID non-driver license in the mail, as Missouri uses a central issuance system. You will receive a temporary document at the time of application.
- You must notify the person assisting you at the license office that you wish to apply for a REAL ID-compliant document.
- It’s highly recommended to use the Missouri Department of Revenue’s interactive guide or review their full list of acceptable documents to ensure you have everything you need before visiting a license office.
