I just called the DMV at 3pm on a Friday and they just literally picked the phone up and then hung it up right away TWICE. This is ridiculous!!

I understand your frustration. Dealing with the DMV can be incredibly challenging, and having them hang up on you twice is definitely not acceptable. Here are a few things you could consider doing:

  • Document the incidents:
    • Note the exact time you called.
    • If possible, record the phone number you used.
    • Keep a record of the number of times this has happened.
  • Try alternative contact methods:
    • Check if the DMV has an online chat or email support option.
    • See if they have a social media presence where you can send a direct message.
    • Visit the DMV website to see if you can complete your task online.
  • Call back at different times:
    • Avoid calling right before closing time.
    • Try calling earlier in the day or mid-week, if possible.
  • Consider visiting a local office:
    • While it might be inconvenient, a physical visit could be more productive.
  • File a complaint:
    • Many DMVs have a complaint process. Check their website for instructions.
    • If you are dealing with a state level DMV you can often contact your state representatives as well.
  • Search online for similar experiences:
    • You might find forums or social media groups where others have had similar issues.
    • This could provide you with additional insights or solutions.
