Moving from Wichita to Marion. What do I need to bring to get a new license?

Since you are already a Kansas resident moving from one city in Kansas to another, you don’t need to get a “new” license, but rather update the address on your existing one.

According to the Kansas Department of Revenue, you can change your address online, but this will not issue you a new physical license. To get a new license with your updated address, you must visit a driver’s license office.

When you go to the office to get a new license with your updated address, you will need to bring:

  • Your current Kansas driver’s license.
  • One document that proves your new residential address. This cannot be a P.O. Box. Acceptable documents include a utility bill, a lease agreement, a bank statement, or a USPS change of address form.

Keep in mind that all documents must be original or a certified copy; photocopies are not accepted.
