I renewed my ME licence online and paid the 32 dollars via credit card. However I want an updated picture for the licence is there a way I could send a new photo or make an appointment to get my picture taken for my renewed drivers licence?

A) To get an updated photo on your renewed Maine driver’s license, you must visit a Driver and Vehicle Registration (DVR) office in person. You cannot submit a new photo online or by mail.

To make an appointment at a DVR office, you can visit their website or call 1-800-452-2910. When you make your appointment, be sure to let them know that you want to get a new photo taken for your renewed driver’s license.

When you go to your appointment, you will need to bring the following:

  • Your current Maine driver’s license
  • Proof of identity (such as a passport or birth certificate)
  • Proof of residency (such as a utility bill or bank statement)
  • Payment for the new photo fee ($10)

Once you have checked in at your appointment, you will be taken to a photo booth to get your new photo taken. The photo will be reviewed to make sure it meets the requirements for a driver’s license photo. If the photo is approved, you will be given a new driver’s license with your new photo on it.

Please note that you must renew your Maine driver’s license in person if you want to get a new photo. You cannot renew online or by mail if you want a new photo.
