To find out how much you owe in order to get your driver’s license active again, you will need to contact your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or the agency responsible for issuing and managing driver’s licenses.
You can visit your state’s DMV website and look for a section on reinstating a driver’s license, or searching for “drivers license reinstatement fee” or similar keywords. Some states allow you to check your license status and reinstatement fee online.
You can also call the DMV office and inquire about the amount you owe, be prepared to give them your driver’s license number and personal information, they will be able to tell you the amount you owe and the reason why your license is suspended.
In some cases, you may have to pay fines, penalties or complete certain requirements before you can reinstate your driver’s license.
Keep in mind, if you are unable to pay the reinstatement fee, in some states, you may be eligible for a payment plan. It’s a good idea to contact the DMV to see if that’s an option for you.
