Very frustrated as I have been trying to make appointment for the whole month of August with no luck. I do not want to go to another location! If this program is going to work you are going to have more appointments available. All I need is to retake the driving test. Please advise how the state of Illinois is going to make it work. P.G. wonder Lake IL.

A) I understand your frustration, P.G. I’m sorry to hear that you have been unable to make an appointment for a driving test in Wonder Lake, IL.

Unfortunately, there are no appointments available for driving tests at the Wonder Lake Secretary of State facility in the month of September. The closest facilities with available appointments are:

  • Waukegan Secretary of State Facility: 617 S. Green Bay Rd., Waukegan, IL 60085. There is an appointment available on September 13th at 10:00 AM.
  • Lake Zurich Secretary of State Facility: 951 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. There is an appointment available on September 14th at 1:00 PM.

You can make an appointment online at www.cyberdriveillinois.com or by calling the appointment helpline at 844-817-4649.

I know it’s not ideal to have to travel to a different location, but it’s the only way to get a driving test appointment right now. I hope you can find a time that works for you.

The Illinois Secretary of State has implemented a new system that requires appointments for REAL ID, driver’s license, ID card services, and in-car driving tests at select facilities. This system is designed to reduce wait times and improve customer service. However, it has also led to increased demand for appointments, which is why you have been unable to find one in Wonder Lake.

The state of Illinois is aware of the problem and is working to increase the number of appointments available. They have added more staff to the driver’s license facilities and are opening new facilities. However, it will take some time to implement these changes.

In the meantime, I recommend that you continue to check the appointment website regularly for cancellations. You can also try to make an appointment at a different location, if you are willing to travel.

Here are some other things you can do:

  • Contact the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to inquire about the availability of appointments in Wonder Lake.
  • Sign up for the email notification service so that you will be notified when new appointments are available.
  • Consider taking a driver’s education course, which may qualify you for a waiver of the driving test.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
