What are the chances of getting the red light at WWW & Tegner ADJUSTED so WWW has the benefit.

Q) I go thru that light about once a day and the Tegner traffic gets the longer green light. This is not space science, but the Tegner light is green while the 3 or 4 cars that were lined up are long gone while the WWW traffic is backing up in both East & West Directions. And then the WWW light only allow about 20 vehicles thru.

A) Unfortunately, I cannot directly influence traffic light timings. However, I can offer some suggestions that might help:

1. Contact the appropriate authorities: The agency responsible for traffic lights in your area likely has a process for submitting requests for signal adjustments. You can search online for the relevant department in your local government or transportation authority. Be sure to clearly state your observations and concerns, providing specific details about the traffic volume and wait times for each direction.

2. Gather data and support: Anecdotal evidence is helpful, but data carries more weight. Consider using tools like traffic apps or recording wait times yourself to document the imbalance. You can also try canvassing other drivers who use the intersection regularly to collect their experiences.

3. Emphasize safety and efficiency: Frame your request in terms of both safety and traffic flow efficiency. Point out that the current timing might lead to frustrated drivers taking risks or blocking the intersection, potentially causing accidents. Highlight how optimizing the light cycle could benefit everyone by reducing congestion and allowing smoother traffic flow.

4. Be patient: The process for adjusting traffic lights can take time, as various factors need to be considered and engineering studies might be involved. Be persistent and follow up with the authorities to check on the status of your request.

Here are some additional resources that might be helpful:

By following these suggestions and utilizing available resources, you can increase the chances of getting the traffic light timing adjusted to better serve all users of the intersection.
