Customer traded a 2004 Chev Tahoe which title isn’t valid in the State of FL.

Q) We are reaching from Sarasota, FL from Scotti’s Auto Sales and we have a customer from VT that purchased a vehicle from our dealership and traded a 2004 Chev. Tahoe which title isn’t valid in the State of FL. because apparently they have another title issued in VT.
We have being back and forward with our local DMV, Tallahassee’s DMV and VT DMV and no one has a solution. All we need is a valid title who can help with this matter?

A) If a vehicle’s title is not valid in the State of Florida, it may not be possible to register the vehicle in Florida until the title issue is resolved.

One option could be to contact the DMV or licensing agency in the state where the title was issued, and work with them to obtain a valid title. This may involve providing additional documentation or completing other requirements, depending on the reason why the title is not valid.

Another option could be to explore the possibility of obtaining a bonded title in Florida. A bonded title is a type of vehicle title that is issued when a valid title is not available. To obtain a bonded title in Florida, you would need to provide documentation that demonstrates your ownership of the vehicle, and purchase a surety bond to cover any potential claims against the vehicle.

It is recommended to consult with a professional, such as an attorney or a DMV representative, to help you navigate the process of obtaining a valid title or a bonded title for the vehicle.

In this situation, it is advisable to contact a licensed attorney or a legal expert familiar with vehicle title laws in Florida and Vermont. They will be able to assist with resolving the issue and provide guidance on how to obtain a valid title for the 2004 Chevy Tahoe. Additionally, you may also try to get in touch with the Department of Motor Vehicles in both Florida and Vermont to see if they can offer any assistance.
